SPTA 3-Piece Orange Light Cut Foam Polishing Pads, 6.5 inch

What the pad design is trying to do

A 3-piece set of 6.5 inch orange foam pads for light cutting, polishing and waxing with rotary or DA polishers.

These SPTA foam polishing pads are aimed at light cutting work on paint and other smooth surfaces. The listing describes them as T40 orange medium-cut pads, with the selected variation shown as 3Pcs Orange T60 Light Cut and a 6.5 inch size.

They are designed for use with a car buffer or polisher, and the listing says they are suitable for rotary and DA polishers. The stated uses include removing fine scratches, light oxidation and sanding marks, then moving on to waxing and finishing where needed.

• The grooved foam is meant to hold some excess polish and help air move through the pad while you work.
• The high-density polyurethane sponge is described as flexible, breathable and easy to bend around panels.
• Hook-and-loop backing is used for quicker pad changes on compatible backing plates.

Points to keep in mind before buying

• The listing refers to 5 inch and 6 inch backing plate wording, so it is sensible to check your polisher and backing plate size against the product details before ordering.
• This is a foam pad set, not a complete machine polisher kit.
• The source mentions cleaning the pad after use and avoiding solvents or alkaline cleaners.

For buyers looking for a general-purpose foam pad set for paint correction, light cutting and finishing tasks, this is the sort of product that fits that job. The exact result will depend on the compound, machine and surface condition you use it with.
