PROTEX Convertible Soft Top Canvas Cleaner, 500 ml (Pack of 1)

PROTEX convertible soft top canvas cleaner, 500 ml

A canvas soft top cleaner designed to deep clean convertible roofs and help prevent green mildew build-up.

This PROTEX cleaner is made for canvas convertible roofs and is intended to deep clean the soft top as part of the restoration process. It is formulated to remove everyday contamination such as bird droppings, road salt, tree sap, mildew and mould, while also helping to prevent green mildew growth.

How it is used

The listing recommends lightly dampening the roof first, then applying the cleaner with a clean paintbrush, working from the middle out towards the edges. Leave it for around 15 minutes so it can penetrate the canvas, then gently scrub with hot water and a stiff brush before rinsing thoroughly with clean cold water.

Points to check before buying

• The soft top should be colourfast, so test a small inconspicuous area first.
• Avoid using it in direct sunlight, as it may dry too quickly to work properly.
• Take care not to spill the cleaner onto the vehicle paintwork during application.
• The source suggests 500 ml is enough for a 2 seater car roof.

After cleaning

PROTEX recommends following up with Canvas Restorer and, if needed, Canvas Waterproofer to restore and protect the roof after cleaning.
